We Walked Because We Care

October 10, 2012

On September 29, I was joined by family and friends to walk with hundreds of other families walking for a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease. It was a beautiful crisp fall morning, made even better by the bonding together of many, for a common goal.

Pat, Michelle, Connie, Kelly, Carolyn, Mechelle, Dan, Paul

My team consisted of my wonderful  husband, cousins, and several friends.  We had such a good time that we are already talking about next year.  We hope  to have many others  join us next year.

While we joined together for a common goal, we all had our own reasons for participating. The Power Flowers we carried show why we were there.  Orange Flowers, showed others  that you support the Alzheimer’s cause, Purple flowers signify that you have lost a loved one to the disease,  Yellow Flowers show that you have a loved one with the disease, and a Blue Flower means that you yourself have been diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease.

I want to thank everyone who helped make this day a great success.  Whether you walked and /or made a donation, your efforts  were noticed by many.  I hope you enjoy these pictures and will want to mark your calendar to join us for next years walk.

You can  find more pictures on website.  Click on the Edwardsville Walk link.

Donations to the 2012 Walk are still being accepted, if you would  like to contribute to putting an end to this disease.
